Lindy Hop Video Clip Watch Party w Sam, Brynna, Rik, and Lori

Watch Party with The Breakaway! We're bringing in some amazing Bay Area dancers to go through some of their favorite clips so we can watch them all together. Joining us will be Samantha Nguyen from the Dancer's Den, Brynna Hayes from San Jose Swing, Lori Taniguchi from Wednesday Night Hop, and Rik Panganiban from San Francisco! Also, we want to acknowledge the current call against injustice and racism in the society today. What's more, we also want to acknowledge that the Bay Area Lindy Hop dance scene is predominantly White and Asian, for a dance that originated in Black culture. So we will also take the opportunity for speakers to share dance clips about the African American roots in our dance and continue to grow as a scene by learning from them. Addressing systemic racism in our dance community is a difficult ongoing journey, but it is one we feel that we shouldn't shy away from.
