Little Henry & The Laveers Live @ Monday Night Swing!

On August 11th, we are bringing back one of our community's favorite bands: Little Henry & The Laveers! Little Henry & The Laveers are a true 1950s band based right here in San Antonio, TX. Performing jump swing, rockabilly, vintage & modern swing, Little Henry & The Laveers have certainly made a name for themselves in our community. With their high-energy brass section, jiving percussion & sharp performance, they've truly become a fan favorite within our local scene. It's always a pleasure to have this band so if you've never had the chance to experience this band, let alone our Monday Night Swing, this is the perfect night for you! See you all on the dance floor! 〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓 🕺 AUGUST DANCE LESSONS: East Coast 1 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Leslie & Emma 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement. Lindyhop 1 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Nick & Ale 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Once you have a firm understanding of the basics, begin to learn this more advanced 8-count dance and the famous swing-out! Lindy can be danced to slow or fast music, often blending several styling including 6-count and Charleston. Solo Jazz 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Torrey 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: For dancers of all levels wanting to build confidence in solo jazz moves that can performed independently, added to partner dance, and utilized in line dances like the Shim Sham and Tranky Doo! NOTE: While these classes are available each week, please know that it takes personal commitment to improve your dancing. This may include self-practice, group practices, or private lessons with instructors. Growth requires pushing your limits & testing your potential. Dance is no exception to this rule. Each of our instructors began at the exact same place as you did! ​〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓 💲 ADMISSION: Public: $20 Members: $15 Annual Membership: $40 🎷DJ MUSIC & SOCIAL DANCE: 8pm-10pm 🧭 LOCATION: The San Antonio Fire Fighter's Banquet Hall is located on the access road of West I-10 right next to the ramp that leads down from Medical Drive on the right side. 🚗 PARKING: The SAFFBH parking can fit up to 100 vehicles. The parking lot is directly outside of the building on the left side. There is also additional parking on the right side. 🍺 𝐁.𝐘.𝐎.𝐁. We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale. NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is an all-ages event and while we allow adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law.
