Madalyn's Angels Ladies-only Salsa Shines Performance Team course

Ladies, you are invited to join national champion Madalyn Milazzo for a nine-week Sunday evening Salsa On2 Shines Performance Student Team course. The Angels team choreography course is run only twice per year and has become well-known and respected for its elegant style that is unique, worldwide, to Madalyn. Madalyn's choreographies are rich in musicality, elegance and feminine expression. Her Angels choreographies, in particular, being based on Salsa on-2, always have a flowing, graceful look and feel. As a Ballroom-trained dancer and instructor, and as a well-rounded dancer in general, Madalyn offers her students a thorough understanding of the principles and concepts underpinning the detailed and precise movements that comprise her social dancing, her choreographed routines and her unique elegant style. All experience levels are welcome. There is NO pressure to perform. But you do need to make this decision before week 5 of the course. If you choose to not perform you will continue to be involved in the training but you will dance next to the team formation. ** In-class Teaching & Training Schedule ** 7pm Sunday 13th October – Learning part 1 of 4 of the choreography (90 mins) 7pm Sunday 20th October – Learning part 2 of 4 (90 mins) 7pm Sunday 27th October – Learning part 3 of 4 (90 mins) 7pm Sunday 3rd November – Learning part 4 of 4 (90 mins) 7pm Sunday 10th November – Team formations and training (60 mins) 7pm Sunday 17th November – Training (90 mins) 7pm Sunday 24th November – Training/Rehearsal (90 mins) Saturday 30th November - Rehearsal before the Latin Utopia party 7pm Sunday 1st December – Training/Dress Rehearsal (60 mins) There will be no additional performance preparation sessions for which you need to pay extra. All sessions required are listed above. Students may book group private lessons with Madalyn if you feel you need additional time. The breakdown of the choreography will be filmed and shared in a Facebook group as it is taught during weeks 1-4. Practice at home is recommended for all students and expected for those who choose to perform in the team. ** No pressure to perform ** There is NO pressure to perform. Latin Utopia's World Salsa Solo Pre-Party (Saturday 30th November) 2. Jade Buddha (10pm Sunday 1st December) 3. Brisbane Latin Dance Festival / World Salsa Solo (Brisbane Convention Centre, 5th - 8th December; performance most likely on the Friday evening TBC) ** Commitment to your team ** For those who do decide to perform you will be given the option to perform at Brisbane Latin Dance Festival or not (there is the additional fee of a festival pass). You will learn the whole choreography within the first four weeks (6 hours of teaching) and then week 5 you will be put into formation and will train that formation for five weeks (5 hours). If you choose to not perform you will still be included in the training from weeks 5-9 but you will not be in the team formation. You have until week 5 to make that decision. Dropping out after the team formation has been decided week 5 will not be possible other than for medical reasons and consistent attendance to training will be expected by your team mates (if you have to miss a session due to a prior commitment, just let us know so we can work around it) ** Investment ** Payment for this course is easy and affordable for everyone: for this 12-hour course with one of the most respected Latin dancers in Australia, the enrolment fee is only $220. If you’re keen to be in the course but $220 is too much to pay upfront, contact James to organise a payment plan (four payments of $60). If you choose to perform you will also need to budget for costuming (typically at least $50 but usually no more than $100 per performer). If you choose to perform at Brisbane Latin Dance Festival you will also need to budget for one of their performer passes.
