Pre-Milonga Workshop Elegant Sacadas for the Social Dance Floor Sacadas can add precision, musicality, and elegance to social tango without disrupting the ronda or taking up excessive space. In this class, we will explore compact, comfortable sacadas designed specifically for the social dance floor. We're also excited to welcome back DJ Ken Broom, who will keep us dancing all night with his wonderful musical selections! About Our Teachers & Performers Roxana Marinoff & César Dávalos Professional Argentine Tango dancers, teachers, and choreographers, Roxana Marinoff and César Dávalos have been dancing together since 2014. Originally from Argentina, their artistic journey has taken them to countless tango shows, festivals, and marathons throughout the United States as guest maestros, performers, and educators. Their appearances include the Southeast Tango Festival (Charlotte, NC), Pittsburgh Tango Fierro Marathon, Boston Tango Marathon, Spoleto Tango Festival (Charleston, SC), Columbia Tango Marathon, Montana Tango Festival, February Frostbite (Montana), ValenTango (Portland), Burning Tango (California), and many others. They have shared their passion and expertise throughout the East Coast and parts of the West Coast, teaching workshops and performing at dance schools, milongas, special events, ballroom studios, and numerous Arthur Murray locations. As choreographers, they have created productions for Argentine producers, including Disney Argentina. In 2015, they were featured in Stravaganza Tango, an innovative theatrical production that fused tango with aerial arts and malambo alongside renowned Argentine performers. They have danced with prestigious companies including Tango Desire Company, Tango Legends, Mora Godoy Tango Company, Tango Genuine, and Marcos Ayala Tango Company, touring both nationally and internationally. In Buenos Aires, they have performed at iconic tango venues including El Gran Café Tortoni, Madero Tango, Tango Porteño, El Viejo Almacén, and Mansión Tango. They were also the principal couple in Tango the Musical and Piazzolla Inmortal, a tribute to legendary bandoneonist Astor Piazzolla, where they performed alongside renowned tango singer Raúl Lavié, Piazzolla's longtime vocalist. Their work has been featured on Argentine television, including multiple appearances on Dancing with the Stars Argentina. During the Argentine summer season, they also perform aboard premier cruise lines including Silversea, Azamara, and Viking. With backgrounds in rhythmic gymnastics, aerial silks, acrobatics, modern dance, and ballroom, their tango style is uniquely dynamic and expressive—combining fluidity, strength, elegance, and musicality. Their extensive experience in both stage and salon tango enables them to teach dancers of all levels with precision, passion, and depth.
