Every Thursday for over twenty eight years, Tango La Nacional hosts an intimate community of dancers from every corner of the world. We are LGBTQIA+ friendly with an emphasis on inclusivity and harnessing the power of embracing a stranger. We are located in the heart of Meatpacking District above the legendary La Nacional Spanish tapas bar & restaurant. This Thursday: Maestra Maria Jose will teach the intermediate class and visiting from Boston Tiffany Wang will DJ! Maria Jose started Tango dancing with professional teachers locally and then traveled to Buenos Aires to learn with some of the best Tango instructors and renowned milongueros. She currently is a teacher at The NYCity Tango Collective and she organizes uniquely curated Tango, Cultural and Gastronomic Experiences in Buenos Aires and in cities around the world. María José offers comprehensive and detail-oriented tango lessons and special workshops in NYC and worldwide. Boston based DJ Tiffany is a conservatory trained classical harpist and pianist. Tiffany’s love affair with the complex world of Argentine tango music started in 2017 when she stepped into her first tango class. She is a student of the great composers and orchestras of the Golden Age and is enchanted by the stories of how their lives and times influenced the development of this art form. As a DJ, Tiffany enjoys using her musical sense and sensibility to create the most memorable and moving tandas in order to match the energy and feeling of the room. She finds it immensely rewarding to watch dancers create their own stories with her music and continues to learn from them in her DJ journey.
