Every Thursday for over twenty seven years, Tango La Nacional hosts an intimate community of dancers from every corner of the world. We are LGBTQ+ friendly with an emphasis on inclusivity and harnessing the power of embracing a stranger. We are located in the heart of Meatpacking District above the legendary La Nacional Spanish tapas bar & restaurant. This Thursday: Maestra Maria Jose Sosa. Maria Jose is an Argentine Tango Instructor & DJ born and raised in Mendoza, Argentina. She started Tango dancing with professional teachers locally and then traveled to Buenos Aires to learn with Ricardo Barrios, Mario Burnissen, Pablo Verón, Melina Brufman, Nito and Elba García, Facundo Posadas, Julio Balmaceda, Corina de La Rosa, Jorge Dispari and Lorena Ermocida. For 20 years, she conducted her tasty "Tango y Te Practica" every Sunday., and organized NYC Woman's Technique Tango Festival. She currently offers comprehensive and detail-oriented private lessons, group lessons, and special workshops.
