He grew up appreciating great African rhythms and more, from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, influenced by the elders in his family. He began his DJ career at the age of 14 in Luanda, Angola, and has been a DJ for over 21 years. DJ Bakongo is a super versatile DJ with an Angolan and African cultural background. He is also an accomplished dancer, predominantly in African dances. DJ NS Bio: DJ NS, shortened for DJ Neg Serieux, is a Haitian-born DJ who has been evolving in the industry since 2010 in Toronto, Canada. He started as a "Kompa DJ," and in 2012, DJ NS was introduced to the world of Kizomba. What began as a birthday celebration with a Kizomba instructor demonstrating the dance to his Haitian crowd, DJ NS never knew that it would be the start of his magnificent journey into the Kizomba world. Slowly but surely, DJ NS made a name for himself by collaborating with Toronto's Kizomba pioneers such as Java, Regan, and Stephanie, to name a few. In 2013, he co-founded one of North America's top Kizomba nights, Flavour Fridays, whịch rạn strong for over three years. Leveraging his success and popularity, he founded Kiz'n the 6ix Weekend Bash in 2016, followed by Urban Legends in 2017. Eight editions later, Kiz'n the 6ix is known as Toronto's Biggest Kizomba festival. Musically speaking, DJ NS is one of the most adaptable and ready Kizomba DJs in North America. Kizomba, Semba, Urban, Konpa, Top 40s, Afro, he always performs and delivers at a high level. Sawa Sawa, Konpa 2 Kizomba, Festival, Kizo Fest, Groove' n Kizomba, Montreal Is Kizomba, Toque, Kiz the Season are just a few of the festivals or weekenders where he has made multiple appearances. DJ NS YOUR MUSIC YOUR DJ ARTISTS: Kimberly & Horacio Bio Kimberly and Horacio are international Kizomba and Semba instructors, choreographers and dancers. Kimberly Nicole is the founder and Director of Kizomba RDU Dance Company, based out of Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, and has been instrumental in growth of the Kizomba dance scene across the Carolinas. Born and raised in Luanda, Angola, Horácio João is a talented dancer and teacher with vast knowledge of Kizomba and Semba dances. He is one of the leaders and members of Os Tukina Dance Company - one of the best in Angola! As a longtime member of Os Tukina, Horácio has become an Ambassador to Angolan Culture . Together, Kimberly and Horacio are passionate about bringing the authentic Kizomba and Semba experience from the roots . Steve CIKI Bio Steve CIKI is originally from Guadeloupe, French Caribbean and grew up listening to Zouk music, one of the music influences of modern Kizomba music. The 1st time he heard Kizomba, it felt like something he knew, something he grew up with… Indeed, it reminded him of his childhood in the Caribbean -- feelings of freedom, happiness, and sharing. Dancing Kizomba became a natural expression, a translation of his lifestyle as lover of Kizomba and its roots.
