At the age of 8, her mother enrolled her in The East Harlem School of Ballet where Maria found her true love for dance, and never stopped thereafter. Maria has performed all around the world with artist such as 112, P-Diddy, and Kanye West. She also performed in New York with Ciara, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Romeo Santos at Madison Square Garden, and just recently danced backup for Rihanna at the 2018 Grammys. She has done industrial and commercial work for: Nike and Stride Gum, and played a cartoon character in the video game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Maria has been seen on "Saturday Night Live" dancing on set for Justin Bieber. For the past 10 years, Maria has dedicated herself to Latin Dance. She trained and performed with various Salsa dance companies such as Yamulee and Santo Rico. Since then, she's been traveling, performing, and teaching all around the world across 4 continents. As a member of The New York Movement Salsa Team, she holds championship titles from the World Salsa Summit 2017, ESPN World Salsa Championships 2016, and World Salsa Open 2016. In 2014, Maria began teaching and performing Bachata when she partnered with Fausto Felix. She was the co-choreographer of La Fuerza and Fausto's former dance partner. Together, they were known for their precision and dynamic choreography. At the 2017 World Salsa Summit, they won first place in the Bachata Team Showcase division and placed 2nd in Pro Bachata Cabaret. Maria's passion to infuse Latin dance and Hip Hop sparked the idea to blend the two art forms to create D'COR Dance Company in New York. Her WOMANITY teams, workshops, and choreographies can be seen in various cities all over the world.
