About this Event
The lady who swings the band! This week DJ Nomad (Lawrence Chan) pays tribute to jazz pianist, arranger, and composer Mary Lou Williams, born May 8, 1910. She wrote hundreds of compositions and arrangements for Duke Ellington, Andy Kirk and Benny Goodman, and she was a friend, mentor, and teacher to Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie.
