Every Thursday for over twenty eight years, Tango La Nacional hosts an intimate community of dancers from every corner of the world. We are LGBTQ+ friendly with an emphasis on inclusivity and harnessing the power of embracing a stranger. We are located in the heart of Meatpacking District above the legendary La Nacional Spanish tapas bar & restaurant. This Thursday: Ladies Night at Tango La Nacional! Maureen Muñoz. Based in New York City, Maureen is an accomplished Argentine tango dancer, instructor, and performer recognized for her elegance, musicality, and refined social dance technique. She is an ATUSA Champion in Tango de Pista and Milonga, as well as a Southern California Tango Championship winner in Stage Tango, Vals, and Milonga. Beyond competitions and performances, Maureen is deeply committed to tango education and community building in NYC. She regularly teaches technique classes and social tango training for dancers of all levels, creating welcoming spaces that combine strong fundamentals, connection, and musical expression. Known for her warm teaching style and polished dance aesthetic, Maureen has become a respected presence within the New York tango community through classes, practicas, performances, and collaborations with dancers and organizers across the city.
