May Dancers' Den: Frankie + Norma Night

Recently, Norma Miller (also known as the Queen of Swing) passed away. For anyone who doesn't know her, she was the last surviving member of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers and an integral part of Lindy Hop. This month at the Dancer's Den, we're going to have DJ-ed music instead of a live band and will be playing some of her and Frankie Manning's favorite songs. Our intermediate lesson is also going to be themed around some classic and historical Frankie moves. Come join us in honoring and celebrating the Lindy Hoppers who paved the way for this dance that we all love. Special DJ Night Pricing: (All tickets will be sold at the door. We take cash or card) $10 for Social Dance Only $15 for 1 Class + Social Dance $20 for both Intermediate and Beginner Class + Social Dance $5 off Student Discount Parking Options: -Underground in the Pacific Renaissance Plaza (we do not validate parking). The garage closes at 11:45pm even though their signs say midnight, so if you park there, please make sure to have your car out by 11:45pm. In the Plaza, take the elevator to the 2nd floor. The dance venue is the first suite on the left. -Franklin 88 Parking Garage. Located on Franklin Street between 9th and 10th Street, across the street from Pacific Renaissance Plaza -A garage on the corner of Webster and 11th Street -Street parking (free after 6pm) From BART: -The closest BART station is 12th Street Station at Broadway in Oakland. Walk south on Broadway to 11th Street and turn left. Continue on 11th Street and turn right on Franklin to enter the Pacific Renaissance Plaza.
