We've been given a great opportunity to host this lovely couple for a few weeks in May, so we're going to go all out and make the most of it - hope you can join us!! We are aiming to provide enough variety for different levels, so they will be running our regular term classes on Mondays, a number of workshops on the weekends, as well as lots of social dancing to practice with them! Improve your lead & follow, musicality and fun moves! ** 8-9.30pm: LEVEL UP YOUR ZOUK - Take your zouk further with focused attention on higher level techniques and patterns involving head movements such as boneca and desprezada. Either course (4.5hrs) - $120 10% discount if doing both (use the code DISC10) ------------------------------------------------------- WEEKEND WORKSHOPS ------------------------------------------------------ PRIVATE LESSONS: $180/hr for 1 hr $160/hr for 3 hrs $140/hr for 5 hrs plus $10/hr studio hire​ ------------------------------------------------------- ## Lydia & Matheus – Dance Bio Lydia Engle and Matheus Correa Cenci are a dynamic Lambada and Brazilian Zouk dance couple based in São Paulo, Brazil. They met at a Lambada festival in 2024 and quickly formed a strong dance connection, leading them to train and work together professionally. Both deeply passionate about their craft, Lydia and Matheus have studied under some of the most respected masters in the field, including Leo Bruno and Hila, Ariel and Leticia, and many others who have inspired their journey. Now traveling internationally, they teach at events around the world, sharing their love for Lambada and Brazilian Zouk. Their mission is to grow the dance, build communities, and spread the joy of movement and connection to dancers everywhere. Their dance studies is grounded in flow, technical foundation building, and the authenticity of artistic expression. ## Matheus Correa – Dance Bio Matheus Correa is a dedicated Brazilian Zouk and Lambada dancer, instructor, and community builder from Florianópolis, Brazil. His journey in partner dancing began in 2016, and he quickly fell in love with the fluidity and connection of Brazilian Zouk and the dynamic energy of Lambada. Driven by his passion for dance, Matheus began teaching weekly classes, helping to grow the local community and inspire new dancers. His dedication has led him to teach at congresses and events around the world. Currently, he has a professional Lambada and Brazilian Zouk partnership with Lydia Engle, traveling and teaching internationally to strengthen and expand these dances. A firm believer in understanding the foundation of the body before building the structure of the dance, Matheus emphasizes body awareness, biomechanics, and musicality, ensuring his students develop a deep and sustainable connection with the art of movement. ## Lydia Engle – Dance Bio Lydia Engle is a passionate dancer, instructor, and community leader with a diverse background in both solo and partner dance. Growing up in Willmar, MN, she trained in ballet, tap, and jazz for nine years before discovering her love for partner dancing at 17. She began with salsa and bachata before immersing herself in Brazilian Zouk at 19 and Lambada at 20. With six years of partner dance experience, she has developed a deep appreciation for connection, musicality, and movement. Lydia has also trained in jazz funk and heels, continuously refining her solo dance technique while sharing her knowledge through teaching. In 2023, she co-founded AmoZouk in Minneapolis alongside three friends, establishing a vibrant space for Brazilian Zouk classes and socials to grow the local dance community. Currently, Lydia is in a professional Lambada and Brazilian Zouk partnership with Matheus Correa Cenci. Together, they travel and teach internationally, spreading their love for dance and inspiring others. Dedicated to lifelong learning and community building, Lydia is committed to sharing the joy of movement and connection wherever she goes.
