May Shades

It's May already! We are excited to kick off this month with an experienced lesson at 8pm with Nathaniel Abrea. Nathaniel has the distinction of being the first person to qualify as an all-star at bluesSHOUT! as both a lead and a follow! Not ipressed by competitions? Nathaniel also shines on the social floor. We are thrilled to also have Hugh and Zosha joining us teaching the fundamentals lesson, also at 8pm. Your DJs tonight are Telind, Hugh, and Matthew. Matthew is your host. The rest of this month at Shades, we’re excited to host a series on Micro-dance, led by Reeva Bradley! What is micro, you ask? This series will focus on the opportunity micro allows to express the music with small movement in a close connection, bringing expanded awareness to your partnership and working towards greater presence of mind. We’ll work on finding a cozy close embrace, creating the space for creative expression with isolations that we shrink down to micromovements. This series starts on May 8th, the 2nd week Monday of May, and goes through the end of the month. Each lesson will be accessible and comprehensive, without being progressive, so attend when you can and tell your friends. See you in class!
