MCDC Conscious Dance 2 27: Finn and Devi River

COME GET YOUR SHORTCUT TO HAPPINESS AND DANCE! Join MCDC this Wednesday February 27 from 5:30pm for an exuberant Dancing Heart Journey with Finn and Devi River! No experience required. Please bring plenty of water and wear clothes that allow you to move freely. MCDC dances every week on Wednesday at the Makawao Union Church from 5:30 pm - 7:25pm. Donations are sliding scale $15 -$20. We do not turn dancers away for lack of funds. Please inquire in advance about possible work trades for MCDC's take down (7:20-7:45pm). ABOUT OUR FACILITATORS Finn and Devi River's Dancing Heart Journeys are inspired by years of studying conscious and other dance forms all over the world. They are co-founding managers of the Maui Conscious Dance Collective and love dancing with their passionate home tribe. "Dance is a magical and healing way to experience aliveness and connection. Moving beyond our notions of separation, we can dance heart to heart, celebrating our true nature of love." MCDC'S 7 CONSCIOUS DANCING AGREEMENTS 1. Dancing is our preferred language and we invite you to save conversations for outside. 2. We encourage you to savor your solo dances, especially in the beginning of our dance. We also invite you to dance with others and ask that you do so with consent. Please use eye contact and other body language (hands, feet) to confirm that the other dancer is up for connecting. Many usually are! 3. Illegal substances and alcohol are not to be consumed anywhere on the Makawao Union Church property. 4. We dance in a way that is physically safe for all. Please keep feet below the waist when lifting other dancers. We only allow children and dogs on the dance floor when they are held in arms. 5. If you experience any difficulties on the dance floor, please find an MCDC team member and we will do our best to support you. 6. Spontaneous singing, circling, clapping and other expressions of joy happen often at our dances! 7. We limit announcements after dance to only those of great communal concern. Please let us know in advance if you would like to make such an announcement.
