Melty Micro - Classic Edition

Thank you everyone for the amazing turnout for our return events! With so many new faces (and since shhh...this month's event will serve as my unofficial bday party), I thought this month we'd go back to some of the classics and see how so many microdancers fell in love with it. DJ sets will feature classic micro music, and the workshop will serve as a focused introduction for why so many of us love micro. Hope you can join us! Basics: Micro, often short for microfusion, is a style of partner dance that focuses on using "micro" movements and a strong connection with our partner to allow ourselves to melt deeply into the music. While there is no official basic step for micro, dancers often rely on synced breath, tiny weight shifts, body isolations, and changing energy levels to further embody the music. For our friends who haven't been to a micro event - if you've been to a late-night zouk, blues, kizomba, or similar event, you'll feel right at home! This is a micro-only event, so leave your grand movements at home, and bring your grand musicality, isolations, and artistic spirit! If you'd like to volunteer for a one hour to receive free entry, please send a DM! FAQ: Anything I should be aware of about the space? Please be respectful of the space! Most importantly, please do not touch the mirrors, and do protect the floor by wearing flats or wide heels. No spiked heels! Food/drink? There is a small lobby where you can eat food you've brought. Please no food or drink besides water in the studio. Water will be available for refilling water bottles (no water bottles will be provided, please bring your own!). Parking? We recommend parking on Robertson if available. Though if you need to park on a side street, we are happy to help you find someone to walk you back to your car! If you do park on a side street, please be mindful of noise as the studio is in a quiet neighborhood. Finally, if you generally feel safe walking in LA, please consider leaving closer spots available for those who do not. Consent & Code of Conduct?
