Each instructor has a strong background in their particular artistry which is what they will be focusing on during their workshop. - Social dancing nights with performances from all the artists. Q: Who will be the instructors? - Melany Krystal Mercedes and Andrew Avila from New York (Previously of Yamulee Pro; So You Think You Can Dance) Teaching New York style mambo, spin drills, body movement and shines - Fausto Felix and The Kingsmen from New York (2x World Summit Bachata Champions) Teaching Bachata Dominican and modern styling, performance choreography and musicality - Gio and Gaby Oocha from Puebla, Mexico (Euroson World Salsa Cabaret Champions) Teaching Salsa style lifts and tricks, partner work and shines - Roxy Vega from Tijuana, Mexico (Bachata Ladies Champions, Salsa Ladies Champions) Teaching Bachata ladies styling, bachata movement and fundamentals ** All training will be at Dance Underground. Q: How long will each instructor teach? Each set of instructors will provide 2-3 hours of intensive training, adding up to more than ten hours of training. Q: Why is our intensive different from other festivals? We have carefully chosen artists with a diverse salsa/bachata backgrounds, style, strength to give you the full range of training you need to become a better dancer. The goal of this intensive is to focus on improving your dance technique and fundamentals instead of taking home yet another pattern that you will never remember. We work with all the artists to create a streamlined curriculum to cover fundamentals and beyond to challenge your dancing. Q: Is there separate tracks for salsa and bachata? No. You will receive training in both. We believe in dancer versatility and that is why our festival is spread between salsa and bachata to give you breadth in both style of dance. Q: You said there are TWO intensive training tracks? No. We have decided to keep the training focused with one track only. Q: Is space limited? Do I need a partner? We will limit attendance and balance the lead follow ratio to ensure that attendees get the most out of the intensive training. Q: Is there social dancing and performances? Yes, there will be at least 2 nights of socials where you will see our guest teachers perform and social dance. More information soon. Q: Can I refund or transfer my registration to someone else?
