We will be investigating, through somatic exploration, improvisation and movement motif recapitulation, ways of following our curiosity.
Drawing partially from the Feldenkrais Method, we harness the capacity of our nervous systems to adapt to situational necessities, allowing for sensitivity to be foregrounded in this playground for emergent adventures in movement.
Beginning slowly and gently, we invite states of readiness for introspection, nuanced attention, and spontaneity, fostering the conditions for expansive alertness so that we may approach dancing decisively and precisely.
.
.
This workshop is offered in two sessions: 1. Solo Inquiry & 2. Partnered Inquiries.
.
.
๐๐ญ. ๐ฆ๐ผ๐น๐ผ ๐๐ป๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ offers opportunities to practice organizing our attention in movement within and without, for lucidity and responsiveness in solo improvisation. It holds the question "how can musicality demonstrate virtuosity?"
.
.
๐ชฒ๐ฎ. ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑInquiries utilizes the potency of curious touch as a vehicle for learning and community building, as we investigate how to direct and integrate the forces coming from the ground through our individual and collective structures, for supported falling and failing.
.
.
Taken together, the sessions lead us to dance towards togetherness even as we solidify our individual sovereignty.

Belinda He is a Singapore-born dance artist of Chinese descent. She received a bursary from the National Arts Council of Singapore to pursue an MFA in Dance at Sarah Lawrence College under the directorship of Sara Rudner. While based in NYC, she was the Artistic Director of SINecdoche Dance, and also performed in the works of Sara Rudner, Jon Kinzel, Parijat Desai, Kathy Westwater and Anneke Hansen. In 2017, she relocated to the Bay Area. There, she has presented her work at various venues while continuing to perform, and provide dramaturgical support to colleagues.
Belinda utilizes pedagogical and improvisational structures to support her creative processes, which often reflect her deep concern of the weaponization of โfake newsโ as propaganda, and her desire to diversify ways of seeing as an antidote to the violence of erasure. Her physical practices of qigong and the Feldenkrais Method deeply influence her creative work, in the ways she relates to time, space, scale and self. She thrives in collaborative relationships, and enjoys current collaborations with Karla Quintero (as one half of alloyed mettles), Hope Mohr, Heidi Carlsen, Mohammadreza Akrami and Nuria Bowart, which have recently taken her to artist residencies at The Finnish Hall, Berkeley, USA (2025), SARUYA, Fujiyoshida, Japan (2024), The Old Mines, Outukumpu, Finland (2024), The Field Center, Vermont (2024) and Dance Nucleus, Singapore (2023).
As a teacher, Belinda facilitates movement practices through the lens of the Feldenkrais Method and her experiences with diverse dance forms, including ballet, contemporary techniques and partnered dances such as salsa and contact improvisation. She maintains a lively teaching practice of both the Feldenkrais Method and contemporary dance technique through improvisation in the US and internationally. Belinda also founded the nurture collective for pedagogical exchange in San Francisco, and co-founded The Lead LLC, a collective for Feldenkrais practitioners of the global majority. Belinda continues to be an active performer in the Bay Area and beyond, and considers the totality of all aspects of her life to be her artistic output.
