Midtown Stompers Auditions

Have you seen our Lindy Hop team, the Midtown Stompers, perform? Think it be cool to join us? We're holding auditions on October 4th and October 7th for two teams. This year the Midtown Stompers will be coached by former Fly Rights choreographer Aubri Siebert who has won championships in practically all of the major swing competitions. She's now living in Sacramento and we couldn't be more excited to have her around. On October 4th, we will be holding auditions for our competition Lindy Hop team. This team will be preparing to head to Camp Hollywood on Labor Day Weekend in 2016. We'll also be exploring heading to other competitions. Requirements for the competition team: 1. Be available Sunday evenings (likely 7:30-10:30pm) 2. Be hard working and willing to make additional practices and miss as few practices as possible. 3. Willing to throw or be thrown in big, difficult air steps. On October 7th, we will be holding auditions for our performance team. This team will focus on performing for the masses. The first performance will be for the December Showcase at the studio. The performance team will also perform around the community at events such as Picnic Day in Davis. You can join and perform with both teams if you want. Requirements to join the second team: 1. Be available Wednesdays from 7:15-8:45pm. 2. Want to learn Lindy Hop and perform with the team. 3. Be willing to throw or be thrown in air steps. We'll start at the beginning, and flying is fun, but not for everybody. The audition will be free of cost. Team dues will be paid monthly and will be $45/person. Team dues cover the cost of participating with one or both teams, and will include additional practices, dress rehersals, etc. Members of the performance team will have the opportunity to audition into the competition team in January. Team holidays for 2015 will be November 25th, December 23rd and 30th for Wednesday practices and November 29th, December 20th and December 27th for Sunday practices. The December show will be on December 19th and 20th. There will be no additional cost to participate in the show. This is an open audition.
