Milonga "La Mirada" (w special guest teacher and DJ Travis Widrick)

Join us for our May edition of Milonga "La Mirada." This month, we're hosting our talented friend Travis Widrick to teach and DJ for us! About our guest teacher Travis Widrick --------------------------------------- Travis is an Argentine Tango teacher, DJ and event organizer currently living in Washington, DC. He has been dancing and teaching tango for over 16 years and was the organizer of ESO! Buffalo Tango Marathon for 7 years. As a dancer, he has an expressiveness that is grounded in both the music, and an interactive, playful connection with his partner. Travis is passionate about teaching, and strives to bring to the surface the potential of each of his students. He believes that a strong foundation in the basic concepts underlying the structure, technique, and musicality of tango will give dancers the freedom to be creative on the dance floor and have fun too. Travis is available for private lessons in Ann Arbor from May 15-21 ($80/hr, contact him directly at 315-313-3186). Our Mission ------------ La Mirada literally means "the look". In Tango, it represents the initial magical moment of our connection to one another. As we emerge from the pandemic, we hope that this milonga provides the magic we need to look, connect, and embrace one another as we build our beloved community of tango dancers.
