About this Event

Milonga Mi Refugio (My refuge/My Shelter) is a tango dancing night organized by Houston tango dancers to support human rights organizations. It is meant to give people a chance to dance and be activists at the same time. The event is open to everyone. So if you haven't danced tango this event will be a perfect chance for you to learn tango, and get to see what a tango dancing night in Houston looks like. There will be a beginners class to introduce new people to tango, performances by our talented dancers, tango accessories, a raffle, delicious snacks, and dancing the most beautiful tango music. All the proceeds from the evening will be donated to PAIR (partnership for the advancement and immersion of refugees) PAIR empowers refugee youth to navigate American society, achieve their academic potential and become community leaders through educational mentoring programs.
