Tango Narnia Part II Through the coat closet, at the top of Castle Karuna, whisper the password and enter the profound land of tango investigation! Welcome back to Tango Narnia, an advanced creativity workshop to prepare your brain and body to create tango surprises. You'll leave this session with: 1) An understanding of the nine crossed system possibilities 2) The tools to apply tango's analytical system to generate variations of classic patterns. The session will include a challenging technique warmup to refine precision and prepare the body, and end with a musical demo showcase. Note we are meeting an hour earlier this time to allow for us to go out for in downtown Northampton for drinks and snacks afterwards as a group! Tango Lab with Mitra Martin: 6-7:30pm. Learn a challenging and exciting methodology for breaking out of habits and old patterns and discovering new chorographic possibilities. Come anytime as you are — we will incorporate you when you arrive. Intention Setting with Stefan Fabry: 7:30-7:50pm. Doors closed. We'll collectively tune into the qualities we want to create together during our evening dance in a brief contemplative visualisation and intention setting. Micro-Milonga: 8-10pm. Our Guest Teacher: https://www.mitramartin.com Our Intention Setting Expert: https://www.stefanfabry.com/about Our DJ: Gustavo Fernandez has been dancing tango socially since the year 2000, when he started in his native Argentina, learning from teachers such as Veronica Gai, Daniel Nacucchio, Lucas Galera, Fabian Peralta, Carolina del Rivero and Fabian Salas, among others. Gustavo is a social dancer and an alumnus of the Hartt School of Music, where he earned his Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar in 2007 under the tutelage of Richard Provost. Gustavo is an active social dancer and has taught tango lessons for the Ministry of Tourism in his native Mendoza, Argentina, as well as for the Community Division of the Hartt School and the Yale Tango Club. He believes in an approach that combines respect and knowledge of traditional forms but also appreciation for modern techniques that move tango forward into the future. Your Hostess and Organizer: Cyla is a life-long dancer originally from Brazil with a background in tango, ballet, jazz, modern, samba, and West African dances, as well as yoga and the flowing arts. For thirteen years, she has primarily devoted herself to Argentine Tango, and her love for community building and the dance led her to teach and organize events. She is also a hula hoop dancer and teaches hula hoop dancing and hula hoop yoga. Cyla holds a Masters Degree in Education, and brings her additional experience and skills as a professional educator to her approach to teaching Argentine Tango.
