About this Event
Nashville Tango Club in collaboration with Nashville Dance Congress bring the Barreiro Tango Trio to Nashville on Sunday March 18th.
Mariano Barreiro is one of the foremost tango pianists in tango today, having performed and recorded with some of the best tango musicians in Argentina, including Horacio Romo, Pablo Agri, Horacio Cabarcos, and more. His trios under his own name and that of Tango BC have been recognized in the United States and Europe on international tours, and have been the featured orchestra for Red Carpet Tango Festival in Las Vegas and for the Tango World Championships in San Francisco (and will be again this year). Touring with Mariano Barreiro is Santiago Cursach on guitar, and Charles Gorczynski on bandoneon.
Santiago Cursach is a guitarist, arranger, composer and teacher of tango and folklore. Santiago has toured Europe and North America for concert halls and milongas. Santiago has arranged and recorded CDs of tango, folklore, bossa nova, samba and rock. He has recorded with celebrated musicians such as Horacio Romo, Pablo Agri, Esteban Riera, Guillermo Ferrer (of Pugliese’s orchestra), among other recognized artists.
Charles Gorczynski is a bandoneonist and composer from Oakland California. Charles composes music without stylistic restrictions, fundamentally centered in tango with influences in modern jazz and contemporary chamber music. He has toured extensively in North America and Italy. Redwood Tango Ensemble was the featured orchestra for Chicago Tango Week 2013 and 2015. Charles was a guest bandoneonist with the California Symphony and San Jose Chamber Orchestra, toured as bandoneonist with the Argentine ensembles Tango BC Trío, Mariano Barreiro Tango Trio, Alejandro Ziegler Quartet, and premiered his own works with the Chamber Music Northwest Summer Festival in Portland.
