Minnesota Salsa Fiesta returns with huge all-star band, pro dancers, late night DJ, visual art, food vendors and more! The 20-piece salsa orchestra La Gran Charanga will perform in the Museum’s Courtyard Ruins with master conga player Yolanda ‘Yuya’ Rodriguez from Havana, Cuba. She'll sizzle with top talent from area bands Salsa del Soul, Tropical Zone Orchestra, Malamanya, and Charanga Tropical. There will be TWO elevated stages in the Ruins Courtyard, one for the band and a second to feature professional dancers and salsa team ensembles. Performers will include dance ensemble Salsa de La Calle and McKnight Fellowship winner Yeniel ‘Chini’ Perez. Free dance lesson with Cuban maestro Rene Thompson. At 10 p.m. the festivities move indoors with for an After Party with DJ Medicco. The salsa will be spinning with a monster mix of merengue, bachata, timba, and cumbia. Party ends at midnight. Throughout the evening attendees will be able to sample Latino food vendors and beverages. Artist Victor Yepéz will energize the Museum space with vibrant colors and visuals inspired by salsa music and dance.
