About this Event

The Moab Salsa Bachata Festival: Bailando With A View is held over Veterans Day in the adventure capitol of the west, Moab, Utah. The festival is directed by Aurita Maldonado AKA Hurricane Rita, a combat wounded 8.5 year female veteran who began dancing salsa to combat PTSD after returning from Iraq in 2005. An ultra runner, avid traveler, and adventure seeker, she was paralyzed in 2012 and used dance to regain her bodily function Now it is her physical therapy. This event is ABSOLUTELY FREE for all veterans with proof of service. "Everything we do from the beginning of our service-time is in rhythm. Dance is just the next step." Moab Salsa Bachata Festival 2016 is focused on inviting our audience to feel gratitude for life, love, Earth, movement, and connection through dance. Our mission is to help you see that you live in abundance if you can move. Our mission to bring veterans and civilians together...not as strangers, but as friends who have not yet met. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW ANY DANCE MOVES TO PARTICIPATE...YOU WILL BE DOING SOMETHING YOU ARE VERY USED TO DOING....MARCHING IN, STANDING, AND MARCHING OUT. YOU MUST HAVE A COMPLETELY BLACK OUTFIT OR YOUR UNIFORM. To find more infor about the Moab Salsa Bachata Festival 2016, go to http://bailandowithaview.com
