Monday Zouk Classes & Social w Brad Meccia

We're so excited to be bringing even more opportunities to learn Brazilian Zouk to the Asheville community! After a long hiatus, we will be bringing back Brad Meccia for the month of November and possibly beyond. Brad has been studying Zouk for 12 years and has trained around the world with renowned teachers. SCHEDULE: 8:30 - Intermediate Class (Please only attend if you have solid experience in the basics and fundamentals of Zouk) 9:30- Beginner Class (suitable for intermediates as well!) 10:30-11:30 - Zouk Social The class will happen every Monday night in November and most likely until Jan/Feb. HOWEVER, Monday November 14th Brad will be out of town. We will likely still be holding the space for practice and social that night. Stay tuned *** COST: $15 for one class $22 for both classes Social is FREE if you come to the classes ***If you're just coming for the social we're asking $10*** Venmo @Bradley-Meccia to reserve a spot of pay in cash at the door DETAILS: Welcome to come on your own or with a dance partner! We will be switching partners throughout so you don't need a dance partner to attend. LOCATION INFO: We will be at the Rusty Lotus Dojo, Located on Tingle Alley Directly opposite of the 5 Walnut Wine Bar (across the street from the wine bar, through the private parking lot, up the stairs.) If you have never been and need specific directions send one of us a DM with you email address and we will email you specific directions. ***About Brad Meccia***: Brazilian Zouk found Brad by chance in October of 2010. He quickly fell in love with freedom and flow of the dance and started intensive training. After roughly a year training locally in Knoxville, TN, he was brought on as an assistant instructor at ZoukEra dance company. To further his dance knowledge, Brad spent the next four years traveling both across the country and internationally to train with as many artists as possible, something he still does today as he believes dance knowledge is never complete. He spent May and June of 2016 training in Sao Paulo in Rio De Janeiro with multiple instructors including Renata Peçanha, the founder of zouk. After leaving Brazil, he spent the next two months hosting an intensive 8 week, 32 hour series in Kona, Hawaii. In November of 2017, Brad completed a NeoZouk techniques instructor certification course with Marco (Mafie Zouker) Mendonça so that he can help grow both Rio Style Zouk and NeoZouk techniques throughout the country and internationally. In May of 2019, Brad further continued his training by completing the 50 hour Master Braz ELITE Certificate Course. ABOUT ZOUK: Zouk is a partner dance which began in Brazil in the early 90s. It evolved from the partner dance known as Lambada. Zouk is a very fluid and sensual, with many different styles and expressions which continue to evolve.
