Join us every 4th FRIDAY in a premier venue showcasing spacious dance floors, high ceilings, and a vintage vibe. If you are new to Blues/Fusion, come check it out for yourself to experience this improvisational partner dance without standardized patterns but with a very strong partner connection. The deep pulse in the music drives the movement. Connectedness is the focus rather than patterns or footwork. This month's theme is COVER UP!! Description below 8:00-9:00pm Taste of Traditional Blues and Fusion 9:00pm-12:00am Blues/Fusion music hours by guest DJs $12 entry, lesson included Continuation Lesson: An ASL Take on Literal Lyricism - Covers Edition taught by Gracie Johnson Dancing is more than just steps on the floor, and lyrics are more than just words in a song! Drawing on a few of the principles of ASL, we will explore the concept of literally interpreting lyrics as a way to add musicality and playfulness to our dance! We will even learn a few signs to bring some added visual vocabulary into your dance. We will lean into our theme by exploring how this concept is enhanced when the songs happen to be covers, since often these are songs that the lyrics are well known. Dress is casual Bring your own beer/wine. Liquor and other beverages above 16% alcohol content are strictly prohibited. Masks are encouraged but, not required.
