Montuno Monthly with guest Teacher & Dj Basil Pinnock (this is a B.Y.O Drinks event)

Join Lee and James along with our Guest this month Basil Pinnock from Dance 2 Salsa. After a great relaunch in September we are back again this month for another great party night at Warmley, great music, classes, great floor and most important a great crowd of regular dancers to make this monthly party so special. For now these events are a Bring Your Own Drinks, FREE parking on site and one of, if not the best wooden floors in Bristol. We would ask people not to put down talc as it is not needed with the refurbished floor. Our guest teacher this month will be Basil Pinnock of Dance2Salsa and he will be taking a Cha Cha Improver level in the main room. The classes start at 20:00 sharp so we can start the freestyle dancing at 21:00 Details about Basil Pinnock A great deal of Basil’s early years were spent in the various Jazz Dance clubs up and down the country. This was a unique underground dance scene, where the emphasis was on solo footwork and breath-taking body movement. Salsa became a major part of Basil’s life in 2001 and he has dedicated himself to learning and teaching all aspects of this fantastic art form. He started Dance2Salsa in the Autumn of 2006 at Bird Hills Golf Club with Melissa Lambourne who in that time has established herself as the ‘First Lady’ of Dance2Salsa. Basil now teaches a number of different dance styles and forms including, On Clave, Cross Body Lead salsa On1, Mambo On2 (Palladium/Classic timing), Cha Cha Cha and Bachata Fusion. With his partner Melissa, he also delivers unique 3 hour workshops in areas such as Musical interpretation and application to dance, Ladies and Men’s Styling, Spins and Rotations, Footwork and Solo movement. The following Covid Policy will apply to all Events and Classes that are run by Salsa Montuno. We do not mind you attending if you are vaccinated, non vaccinated by choice or for medical reasons as long as you take a negative Lateral Flow Test and register it with the NHS and can provide either confirmation by text or email to show it was taken within 24 hours of the event to gain entry, details below: Due to the current COVID pandemic we feel it’s our social responsibility to help protect our dance community from contracting the illness. As any vaccinated or non vaccinated person are still able to carry the virus, we would like to ask everyone to take a lateral flow test which are free from your local chemist, and a negative result is a pre-requisite to attend the event. Once you have submitted and registered your result (instructions how to do so are in the packaging), you will receive a text and / or email confirming your negative result and this can be used as proof for entry.
