About this Event

Gather with us beneath the Full Moon on Ritual Hill as we cross the threshold from winter’s darkness into the lighter half of the year. As the sun sets over the valley, we’ll light the Beltaine fire, call the corners and dance the turning of the wheel back toward summer. MOSE returns to Hawk & Hawthorne joined by HABITAAT for a night of ceremonial rhythm, embodied movement and ecstatic release. Lillie Lumina opens the night with an acoustic set that connects us with our hearts. With our hearts open, together we call in the corners and open the circle with Lillie Lumina and Josh Fox. Doors open at 5:30. Arrive by 6:30 to sink into the magic, connect with the land and our heart centers, before the movement and dance begin. Hawk & Hawthorne is nestled in the mountains just 20 minutes north of Asheville, on the edge of Pisgah Forest. Rooted in fire, music, movement and the ancient impulse to celebrate life’s return… This is Beltaine at The Hawk. These gatherings are intentionally intimate and capacity is limited. If you feel the call to join us beneath the full moon on Ritual Hill, we encourage claiming tickets early. ✨ At a Glance Camping is included with the Full Weekend Pass. Mose is based in Guatemala where cacao ceremonies and ecstatic dance have had a major influence on his productions and DJ style. It is here that he founded regular cacao dances where members of the community have the opportunity to journey deep into dance while held in a ceremonial container, free of alcohol. Beyond the multicultural rhythms and the steady hypnotic beat, Mose weaves ephemeral chanting of sacred songs and calls to love, kindness and compassion, often bringing in live musicians to create something improvisational connected with that particular place and time. He creates with the intention to set a foundation for self discovery and the cultivation of a present minded state which offers new insights and deeper clarity in one's purpose. HABITAAT HABITAAT’s music resonates with both deep-listening organic bass DJs and feel-good partygoers, offering an experience that is as meditative as it is high-energy. Whether played in the depths of a forest, the pulse of a nightclub, or under the stars at a festival, HABITAAT’s music creates a space where movement, connection, and nature unite. Lillie Lumina Bio coming soon. An Tír Nua An Tír Nua (“The New Land”) are the new generation of old music. Blending infectious rhythms and traditional melodies, Guitarist/piper Brian Dooley and flute player Joseph Marino are joined this Beltaine on Duncan Hardee on bouzouki/banjo. ALEX CARUSO and Friends Bio coming soon. Qi Gong -- Bridging Earth & Sky with Lily Grace: Bridging Earth and Sky is a simple flowing Qi Gong practice that weaves grounding, breath, and subtle energy to help you root into the Earth, open to the Sky, and feel the quiet power of your heart as the bridge between them. This flow is friendly to all levels, all are welcome, and all will walk away feeling balanced, centered in themselves, and glad they tried it. Habibi Village Habibi Village offers freshly made Lebanese flatbreads known as Saj bread, prepared on a traditional Lebanese oven. Our bread is gluten-free and topped with zaatar, high-quality Asheville cheeses, organic greens, and Kalamata olives. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. == About Hawk & Hawthorne == We are bridging commerce & community to nurture and enrich an emergent regenerative culture. The Hawk & Hawthorne is a practicing permaculture community & regenerative event venue nestled just north of Asheville, NC. Check out the short video below for a glimpse into the magick. Set in a retrofitted heritage tobacco barn amidst an expansive valley full of fruit trees, gardens, spring-fed ponds & majestic views, The Hawk has been an organic gathering point for the Asheville & Barnardsville community for over 30 years, hosting hundreds of weddings, workshops & intimate live performances. --> We are a non-alcoholic venue. Homemade elixirs & healthy(ish) snacks will be available at the bar. (Cash preferred; venmo/cards OK.) --> Children Kids 12 & under don't need a ticket but must be accompanied & supervised by a trusted adult at all times. Generally speaking, the event is kid-friendly. It’s an alcohol-free gathering, though the programming is primarily geared toward adults. Families are welcome during the daytime and early evening hours. Late-night fire and dance spaces tend to be more adult-oriented, so parents should use their discretion. --> Arrival Instructions and Venue Policies will be sent in the email with your ticket confirmation. Please read them carefully. --> Leave dogs at home. == A NOTE ON PRICING, ACCESSIBILITY & REFUNDS == ==> Low on cash? If you'd like to join us but are low on cash, please email us at least a few days before the event at [email protected] and let us know what you can offer. We have discounted spots available for those who need them, including BIPOC and economically disadvantaged community members. ==> Can you support? Producing this gathering is a communal labor of love. If you're in abundance and would like to offer a little extra support to our amazing community staff, there is an optional "Crew Gratitude" on the ticket page. A $5 contribution is automatically added to each ticket but can be adjusted up, down, or removed entirely. All contributions are shared equitably among the crew who help bring these gatherings to life. Thank you for helping make this dream possible. ==> Financial Transparency We know attending events like this is an investment of both time and money. Here is a rough breakdown of where your ticket money goes. These numbers are based on selling 300 tickets, and final numbers will fluctuate based on actual sales. Example breakdown of a $59 ticket $28 goes to the artists & travel expenses $13 goes to local production partners (sound, stage, lighting, decor & other production costs) $7 goes to pay our community crew (+ tip share) $5 goes to marketing (show graphics, promotion & online ads) $2 goes to hard expenses — firewood, paper goods, cleaning supplies, etc. $4 goes to ticketing and processing fees The venue itself operates on a very small margin at this scale. Most of the ticket price goes directly toward artists, production partners and the crew who help bring these gatherings to life. Revenue from food, the bar and weekend passes helps sustain the event and support the ongoing stewardship of Hawk & Hawthorne and the land that holds it. The $15 parking pass helps cover the cost of parking attendants, maintaining the parking field, and the additional staffing required to safely host gatherings of this scale. It also allows us to keep ticket prices lower while ensuring everyone who purchases a ticket has a place to park. ==> REFUNDS & RESALE: Refunds are not available. If you wish to re-sell, we recommend using the Facebook event page associated with this event. The Hawk also moderates a Telegram group. If you are buying tickets from people online, *please check with us first* to make sure they are genuine. Ticket scammers are increasingly common on social platforms. We will not refund a ticket if you are scammed!
