Movement and Drumming Workshop with Clo Mudrik

After the great success of our initial class, Bateria 61 will again team up with the wonderful Clo Mudrik for beginners samba movement and percussion workshops! This is a great opportunity to enjoy moving to the live drums of a real bateria, and also to join in and make some noise of your own while learning traditional Brazillian rhythms. Cost: $30 Contact: [email protected] Movement Instructor Clo Mudrik: Clo Mudrik is researching about Traditional Dances and Rhythms since 1981 after doing year of competitive gymnastics and Laban. She lived in New Zealand for 10 years where she started teaching Capoeira and Traditional Brazilian Dances, organizing the wing of dancers of Wellington Batucada and since 2008 producing Festivals of Brazilian Culture (Live Brazil Festival and Festival Brazil), teaching workshops in Festivals such as WOMAD, Capital E, Capoeira Brazil Festival, Jambalaya, Parihaka, Rhymes and Vines) performing shows of Brazilian music in radio stations, playing music, singing, dancing, doing props and costumes for Brazealand Band(as part of Brazealand Project) and teaching Circus Skills. Drumming Instructor Geoff Reynolds: Geoff Reynolds has been playing drums and percussion for over 25 years. His love for samba began with Samba Frog around 10 years ago, and he has since gone on to perform at countless samba events and shows around town including Sydney Festival, Mardi Gras and Ritmo Brazilian Festival in Darling Harbour. He's also paraded twice with Alegria Samba School at Tokyo Carnival and played with blocos and escolas in Rio de Janeiro. Geoff loves to share the joy of music through playing, teaching and building the local samba community.
