Movement Artisans Summer Residency in Sweden, 10 days immersion in Contact Improvisation and Axis Syllabus by the Baltic Sea. It has been such a pleasure last year to weave the musings of Katja into our Movement Artisans program in Berlin and to embark on our first residential journey last summer we are exited to continue sharing and deepening this collaboration. Johan will come again with his digital musings and Barnaby Tree will join us this year with piano and cello. ​We welcome you to 10 days of daily classes, laboratories, open space, jams, concert, sauna, fireplace and walks in nature. As a team of passionate dance researchers and contact improvisation practitioners, we are dedicated to weave together our individual strengths and qualities to provide an inspiring, supportive and inclusive environment for discovery, growth, connection, and lots of dancing together. Yeah!!! to fancy bike tours, hot barbecues and cold baltic plunges! ​ SCHEDULE: Coming Soon! TEACHING TEAM Kira Kirsch is a dance artist, dance educator, dance researcher and community builder. Based in Berlin since 2015 she has been collaborating in building a furthering educational program for dance & movement professionals at LAKE Studios under the name of “Movement Artisans”, created an annual festival called “Sensing In” and hosted several dance research residencies and symposiums at LAKE Studios and Tanzfabrik developing and collecting collaborative research methodologies for dancers at the intersection of art, science and transmission. She has been a regular guest teacher at the HZT Bachelor and Master program and teaches internationally. Her artistic work is deeply influenced by her 7 years in San Francisco dancing with Sara Shelton Mann, Avi K.productions or Nita Little & the Divisadero Research Company among many others. Recent projects that call in and seek to embody untold stories and portraying unseen relations include dance films, music videos, touch residencies and site specific works. Kira is also a passionate contact improviser. Antoine Ragot was born in Poitiers, France and is now based in Berlin, Lake Studios, where he currently runs a yearly movement education program together with Kira Kirsch. Today, Antoine brings many years of teaching contact improvisation, improvisation, sports and early motor development to his fastidious bent for research and sharing of the Axis Syllabus, of which he is a certified teacher and certifier. He is involved in various dance communities and teaches and crafts dances, as well as research and study movement relentlessly. She graduated from the Vocational Dance School in Outukumpu, Finland 2004 as dancer, and holds a MA degree in „Contemporary Dance Education“ from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt, Germany. In her work as a teacher, she combines different approaches from contemporary dance, improvisation practices, partnering and contact improvisation and has worked in divers contexts for dance internationally. She is curious about the states of presence and the body’s ability to transform, embody, and transmit images, into knowledge, emotions and atmosphere's. She continues being in awe with the dance as her teacher. PRICING SYSTEM: The price includes access to the whole program of classes, labs and jams, evening programs or sauna as well as 9 lunches 620 € | early bird price (registration completed by April 30th) 720 € | regular price 850 € | support price 100 € deposit to confirm your registration YOUNG ARTISTS This year we are opening 5 places with 50% of discount from the early bird price. These are for young artists who are at the beginning of their professional career or are about to finish their dance studies. FOOD A lunch will be served everyday by our fabulous chef Sophie. It is included in the price. Food store, restaurant, cafe, fresh market produce are all within walking distance. You take care of your breakfast and dinner at your cottage or in the community space. ACCOMMODATION Either in a nice little cottages with 4 single bedrooms. Each cottage has a common living room with a small kitchen for the preparation of your breakfast and dinner. Or in a single bedroom in a dorm-like-building where you have your private toilet and bathroom. Large Shared kitchen in a nearby building.
