About this Event

Yo! 📣 Thanks to everyone who have shown us love and supported our events so far this year. After our SSO Encounters 2023 afterparty and MUD resident Niwin's birthday gig, we are back at it with our monthly club event. After a couple of tries over the past year, we have finally managed to book a guest DJ that has been hard to get hold of. Welcoming MUD supporter, music head and former street dancer: DJ Linda Lee. ✨ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DJ Linda Lee started out breaking in 1994 and established a "girls-only-crew", named "Break Patrol". Not long after, they changed their name to "Heartbreakers", a crew that had a lot of shows and attended the Norwegian Championship, both in 1997 and 1999. In 1999 Linda shifted her focus towards locking, she quickly adopted the style and became the locker in the crew. Forgot to mention that Linda was established in the local rap game back in 1995, that's when and how she got her name. Things really got interesting when she joined the rap clique "Dangeroos" in 1996. The same year she came up with a local hip hop radio show called "Ladies First", once a week for many years to come. In year 2000 Linda Lee expanded the radio show and took it one step further, developing "Ladies First" into a club concept. Linda has been DJ'ing since then, playing a variety of genres. But one of her biggest passions nowadays is playing house music, equally shared with the love for house dance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Linda is packin some treats in her crates, so expect an evening with high energy pumping music, across house, disco, boogie, funk and broken beat genre. 🔥 Warm up and B2B set with MUD resident: DJ Ghar घर. Yet another night at Kulturhuset's warm and intimate venue Boksen, in other words: NO cover charge, the event is FREE. Get yourself and some friends down to Kulturhuset and vibe with us. 🌊 See ya on the floor. As always, lots of love MUD crew. 💖 ---------------------------------------- Venue: Kulturhuset - 2nd floor Boksen Date/Time: Sat - 27.05.23, 22:00-03:00 CC: FREE ID: 20 ---------------------------------------- Flyer design: Niket Sharma -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DJ Ghar घर Ghar घर aka Niket, is a DJ from Oslo. DJ Ghar घर has been a central part of MUD Session Oslo from its early beginnings, where he is a resident DJ, organizer and promoter of club nights, as well as other cultural events. This being said, DJ Ghar घर has extensive experience and a good foothold in the house scene. Like many of his peers, DJ Ghar घर started his musical journey digging through his parents' record collection. Fast forward to the present, and you’ll meet a dancer and a DJ with strong focus on underground music, who is very inspired by the local street dance and club scene in Oslo. From earlier, DJ Ghar घर has a background in Indian percussion, which has left its traces as passionate interest in rhythms regardless of genre. As an enthusiast, DJ Ghar घर tries to explore and expand his musical horizons, by continuously searching for (crate digging) new music. As an advocate of the vinyl format, this is well reflected in his ever growing collection. And something that comes into its own, in DJ sets where you often hear a bridge between: House, Disco, Funk, Boogie and Broken Beat (BruK) music. Dj Ghar घर has already played at clubs like The Villa, Dattera Til Hagen, Jaeger Oslo, Revolver, Uhørt, Blå, Ingensteds, Godthåb, Oslo Camping, Sentralen, Kulturhuset, SALT art & music, Dansens Hus, Melahuset, and has had the pleasure of warming up for Andreas Saag (SE), Lay-Far (RU), Crackazat (SE/UK), Mark de Clive-Lowe (UK/NZ/JP), Vanessa Freeman (UK) and Fenyan (FR). DJ Ghar घर has staked his claim on the dance floor with the MUD collective as one of two resident DJs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- MUD Session: MUD stands for Movement Undefined and started as an open ‘House session’ for movers across different backgrounds. MUD Session concept was born in New York and created by the female House dance crew MAWU back in 2009, and later brought to Norway, Oslo in 2015. Since then, MUD has been a common meeting ground where we share our spirit and love for House music, House dance and club culture. The concept mainly has its roots in house, disco, funk and boogie music genre, and aims to recreate the atmosphere that has existed in various clubs and underground scene in New York since the early 1980s. With us, we always have our resident DJs, DJ Ghar घर and DJ Niwin, who aim to take us on a musical journey. Our monthly sessions have moved through different venues in Oslo: Dansens Hus, Kyrre Texnæs Studio Sentralen and Melahuset to mention a few. In addition, MUD is currently running through Oslo’s club circuit: Revolver, Blå, Ingensteds, Jaeger Oslo, Oslo Camping and SALT art & music.
