**SPANISH BELOW** As women, we feel constant risks in our personal lives. We face barriers and attacks on our psychological and physical well being. Every year, around this date we come together with a profound wish to collect our energies and gratitude for our everyday fight against the patriarchy. In this all-day event, we will bring to life the struggle of our grandmothers and mothers – by holding each other up. Led by Phaxsi Coca and Cecilia 3.30pm-5pm: Documentaries + Panel: - A Thousand Steps by Sin Fronteras - LAWRS A short film by Latin American young women, reflecting on their dreams and experiences of migration. - Calls for Justice by Proyecto Quipu Esterilizaciones forzadas: las voces de las afectadas Followed by Q+A, with a panel including Movimiento Jaguar Despierto, Sin Fronteras -Lawrs, London Latinx and LAWA. 8pm-12midnight: Music and Dance https://www.richmix.org.uk/events/music/mujeres-y-rebeld%C3%ADa-evening link for evening tickets -Expresion Inka - Poetry from Sonia Quintero - Matices Latinos - An array of different musical styles from countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Perú and Argentina, which explores the rhythms and melodies of African-inspired Latin music. - DJ: Larissa Schlei (Udigrudi) Art Takeover: LAWA through their Changemaker Program, will present the exhibition of portraits "I am a Woman of Change", exhibition curated by the Venezuelan photojournalist Betty Zapata and composed of 16 portraits of women who were part of the first generation of the program. We are a community made through the authentic relationships to the people and spaces around us – our contribution to that is tied to our survival; and we have a responsibility to that community. We are here to support each other and hold the line for each other. This is a space we want to hold for you, for us – to recover us, to recover those spaces. Join us! **This event is open to everyone, however it is by Latin American migrant women for Latin American women, a safer spaces policy will apply. ***We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified. ---------------------------------- Como mujeres, sentimos riesgos constantes en nuestras vidas personales. Nos encontramos con barreras y recibimos ataques a nuestro bienestar psicológico y físico. Cada año, para esta fecha, nos unimos con un profundo deseo de reunir nuestras energías y gratitud por la lucha cotidiana contra el patriarcado. En este evento, daremos vida a la lucha de nuestras abuelas y madres, abrazandonos. 1) A través de un taller de curación, queremos ofrecerle a ustedes, las mujeres de nuestra comunidad, un espacio para apreciarnos mutuamente (Solo para mujeres: utilizamos una definición inclusiva de "mujer", ver abajo ***) 2) Con nuestro documental y panel, queremos compartir conocimiento y nutrir la fuerza del maíz y nuestros territorios; 3) Terminaremos el día con una celebración con música en vivo exclusiva y nuestrxs DJs Latinxs. Somos una comunidad hecha a través de relaciones auténticas con las personas y los espacios que nos rodean: nuestra contribución a eso está ligada a nuestra supervivencia; y tenemos una responsabilidad con esa comunidad. Estamos aquí para apoyarnos y mantenernos firmes la una para la otra. Este es un espacio que queremos crear para usted, para nosotrxs, para recuperarnos, y recuperar esos espacios. Acompañanos.
