NAH MEAN #10 is subtitled "world a Reggae music" because Reggae is where it all started. For the tenth edition of Bruges' hottest Reggae/Dancehall/Afro party we'd like to honor, not only Roots Revival Reggae, Dancehall and Afro music, but we add something extra to let people taste some of the real authentic soundsystem culture: DUB ROOM! -- Policy: NAH MEAN stands for love, peace and understanding. NAH MEAN is not the product of a commercial organisation, but the result of many people celebrating music in love and peace. Everybody wants to keep NAH MEAN going. So be respectful, smoke outside, don't do drugs, come early and stay late. NAH MEAN is about music, togethernes and unrestrained hapiness. Let's keep it that way! -- //LINE UP// ==DancehallRoom== Team DAMP -- Sounds funny, introducing the promotors on their own event. Still, we could write a bunch about these guys. No sound got their city so on fire like Team DAMP. They prove skills on every NAH MEAN party, stood firm on Reggae Geel and Antilliaanse feesten, broke down Factor Club on Benenwerk afterparty and most recently they had Magdalenazaal going bananas on Holy Shit ✞✞✞. Team DAMP stands for pleasure, peace and happiness. Nobody will be left behind when Team DAMP handles the decks. Think of the heaviest Dancehall, most turned on Afro grooves and deepest Roots Revival riddims. #DAMP Drigão -- Drigão, born in Brazil, is one of Belgium's finest and most famous world groove club deejays. No other deejay mixes Afro, Dancehall, Kuduro, Zouk, Favela, Baile Funk and so many other tropical styles the way he does. He turns clubs upside down and gets everybody moving from the first drop. Needless to say he is the guy who makes girls get all sweaty and wild. Team DAMP shared the stage with Drigão and Postmen on Antilliaanse feesten in the summer of 2016 and our home Team was more than a little impressed by Drigão's skills and selection. BE READY! Soul Shakers -- Soul Shakers is probably Belgium's highest ranking quality deejay crew playing Jamaican and UK music. Soul Shakers fire off relentlessly rolling breaks, excessively deep subs and a performance that is so honest none will be left doubting their intentions. These guys are true to the bone. It's only logical they are an international standard and a resident on the wickedest events! JABO JAY -- Jabo Jay is an old hand in the Bruges urban scene. But more then for any other Bruges based deejay, the proverb 'old is gold' is in it's place. Jabo was there back in the days when the famous Hip Hop bar the DOOWOP opened it's doors, and he is still here and on point. He resided in Senegal for some years and still has a close affinity to the African continent and it's beautiful music. Jabo Jay is an excellent selector and an on point deejay when it comes to mixing skills. Party vibes guaranteed! ==DubRoom== High'r Ites - provides the Soundsystem. -- High'r Ites is a roots Reggae inspired crew known for solid sessions and a pure selection. Haven't you heard them play that intense Burning Spear - Invasion? High'r Ites proves to be so much more then just another Dub sound. They take you on a journey through the history of deep, spiritual Reggae music and take time to play all of it. No need to skip the classics, no need to speed it up and aim only for the digital heavy weight, no need for nothing ... but vibes. High'r Ites often travels with our local emcee heros MC MessenJah and SAIMN-I, who knows who'll join them on NAH MEAN ... Forward Fever -- Forward Fever is probably the longest up and running soundcrew in Bruges'. They are the reason so many of Bruges' youths listen Reggae and Dub music. Over the years, Forward Fever grew from the sound known for the greatest camping parties on the Reggae Geel camping site to the sound that's a n°1 Belgian product with own productions hailed and played by the greatest international sounds such as Channel One Sound System. Forward Fever plays original- and today's trending Dub tunes the way it should be done. They stand for topnotch selections, quality singjays and emcees and a pure, deep sound. Youth & Truth -- Youth & Truth is a militant roots reggae soundsystem that works through the inspiration of Jah Rastafari. As the youths of today will be the men of tomorrow, Youth & Truth strives to teach them truths and rights through the medium of Word, Sound and Power. The soundcrew includes operators, deejays, emcees, singers and a melodica player. Youth & Truth brings you pure roots Reggae and deep Dub music. If you don't know these guys, it's about time to get to know them! Unification Soundsystem -- Unification Soundsystem is the project of three young music lovers. They have their own custom build soundsystem and have a huge interest in Reggae music. Nevertheless they don't fear to cross musical boarders and touch anything from Dub to Jungle and all what's in between. They were invited to play in Reggae Geel's 18inch corner in 2017 and besides they play all over the country. Unification will have you vibin' on Roots Reggae, Dub and digital steppers.
