About this Event
We welcome legendary dancer, maestra and choreographer Natalia Hills back to London and instantly we dive deep into her tango world with the premiere of her new project, CALLEJON HILLS. After the two hour experience Natalia will lead a real guided practica.
Natalia describes below her inspiration for her work.
Callejón Hills is conceived as a geographical and sensory journey through tango. Through guided breathing, grounding techniques, and movement exploration, participants will be transported into a vivid landscape: a narrow alley filled with music, echoes, rhythm, dancers, and children.
Inspired by Natalia's childhood memories of growing up in the suburbs of Buenos Aires during the mid-1980s, the seminar recreates the atmosphere where tango was lived as part of everyday life. Rather than simply learning steps, participants are invited to experience tango as a living culture and a physical language.
More than a traditional class, Callejón Hills is a choreographic laboratory and a guided composition workshop. Dancers of all levels will explore how each tango style is danced, discovering the qualities, dynamics, and intentions behind the movement instead of merely reproducing figures.
