Natural Tango Technique with Katrin Urwitz and Jorge Frias

Katrin Urwitz and Jorge Frias live and teach tango in Buenos Aires. Their style of dancing is highlighted by natural way of movement, fine musicality and subtle, playful communication between partners. Their classes are well known for breaking stereotypes and opening new opportunities of communication to their students. This year they offer a seminar ‘Natural Tango Technique’ where we will revisit the basics of tango movement and see how improving the foundation can contribute to more complex moves to be done effortlessly and naturally. We will explore tools that you have in your body to improve both, connection with a partner and music interpretation, and ultimately to boost your joy of dancing. Schedule of the workshop: Saturday 21. September: building trust Building a foundation to find our comfort, balance and communication in a couple. Giving and receiving information. 16:00-17:30: Equilibrium, balance and axis in a couple 18:00-19:30: Spirals, pivots, front and back crosses, boleos Sunday 22. September> going wild! Using the foundation from previous day, we will explore our possibilities- the playful, elastic, musical side of tango! 15:00-16:30: Enrosques, Pencils, Ganchos 17:00-18:30: Elastics, Dynamics, Acceleration, Continuity & Deceleration Costs per person: single class 35 €, one day 60 €, full seminar 100 €.
