About this Event

Have you ever dreamed of dancing tango? Look oh-so-smooth and wear a striped suit and a fedora 🕴️? A long red dress 💃? Have a rose in your mouth and bleed profusely from rosebud cuts? Well, this is your chance. Argentine Tango, a dance rooted deeply in African culture (surprise!), is a globally celebrated dance, currently at it's height of popularity. It's a blend of 70% hugs, 10% being smug, 10% technique, and 10% red wine. We can guide you through some of these elements. Things you don't need: - A dance partner. We teach both roles to everyone, and you will be switching partners in the class. At the same time, if you're coming with a partner - that's great, you already have a keen practice partner. (Dancing is also a great place to find new friends, the dance being social and all) - Dancing experience. Things you do need: - Shoes you can pivot in - no rubber soles. Basically, try twisting on the spot. - Patience - Laughing at your teacher's bad humor. - Some comfort with using English, as classes are taught in that. No auditions, no selection process - everyone is warmly welcomed. You also don't have to attend every class, but consistency will help you a lot. It's also free if you're VU student, and reasonably priced if you're not. Much love, and see you in the class! Weekly on Wednesdays from September 10th. 18:00 - 19:30 New beginner's group 19:30 - 21:00 Everyone else VU Verslo mokykla/Business School Saulėtekio al. 22 I a. hall
