NAVIGATING CHOICES: EMBRACING FLOW, BEING ALIVE CONTACT IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP WITH GURU SURAJ // MUMBAI In this workshop, you are invited to experience the concept of Navigating Choices—a continuous flow of energy and presence that shapes our practice. Inspired by Nancy Stark Smith, we will explore how the dance between focus and transition occurs in the flow, a space where familiar reference points dissolve and new possibilities arise. This class is designed to help you welcome both clarity and uncertainty in your movement, enhancing your awareness and expanding your freedom in improvisation. Through guided explorations, shared movement, and mindful attention, you’ll deepen your connection to your body, the space, and others. Whether you're new to these ideas or looking to refine your understanding, this immersive experience invites you into a deeper dialogue with the present moment. --- ABOUT THE FACILITATOR GURU SURAJ Guru Suraj is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in both visual and movement arts. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai, and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy of Yoga from Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University. He is a co-founder of *Contact Improv India (CII)*, dedicated to spreading CI across India through teaching, performance, and community engagement. With 14 years of practice in Contact Improvisation and somatic techniques, Guru brings a rich, inclusive, and experimental approach to teaching.
