The old modes of civilization are collapsing, and the social order is being swept up in chaos of fear and divisiveness. Yet, there is also an excitement and willfulness teeming amongst those who are awakening to a whole new vision of a possible world where all are bridled in a radical commons of love and spiritual truth. This awakening has been prophesized the world over by many ancient and indigenous peoples. We are living in a time of great destiny and its fulfillment is up to all of us to bring to fruition. From the ancient Gnostic Mystery Schools of Eurasia, there is spoken of a time when universally many peoples all over the world regarded Mother Earth, the Great Goddess Gaia, as our truest teacher. She was also known as Sophia which means wisdom and was regarded as such: the Goddess of Wisdom. These ancient ancestors of ours were devoted to the Planetary Mother and had developed many rites and ways to interface with Her galactic intelligence which guided profound cultures of beauty and virtue. Her story, housed in the Mystery Schools, lost after an age of horrendous persecution, has been reclaimed in modern times for all to hear once again. The Gnostics also had a prophecy that there would come a time when Gaia-Sophia would awaken amidst Her ‘dreaming’ to help Her blessed children, Divine Humanity, awaken their latent genius, their ‘epinoia’, and overcome the travails suppressing their evolution. This divine time is now. The New Earth prophecy also has roots in Native American prophecy and speaks of the rising of the Rainbow Warriors; peoples who would awaken to a universal cause to regenerate humanity’s sacred relationship with the Earth and help bring forth a new civilization based on wisdom, truth and love. NEW EARTH DREAMING is a day-long retreat where we will be exploring some of these ancient stories while also contextualizing the great mission before us in these transformational times to be co-creators of a new vision for our world and species. The setting will be the beautiful lands of Swan’s Nest, located just an hour outside of Toronto; a pastoral property of natural beauty, featuring its own private lake and exquisite meadows. On this day, your beautiful guides will be eco-spiritual philosopher, mystic musician, writer and poet, Darren Austin Hall, a devotee of the ancient stories of Earth, and shamanic and sound healing practitioner, therapeutic drummer, and forest bathing guide Rufus Glassco, a songwriter and song carrier devoted to helping others connect and heal in song, sound, rhythm and in nature. A resplendent day of weaving Gaian community will begin at 11:11AM with our Opening Ceremony where we will call in the directions and forge our joyful alliance. We will then move into the Gaia Awakening storytelling workshop where Darren will share the ancient story of Gaia-Sophia with song and verse, along with added wisdom teachings by Rufus. We will then set out to cleanse ourselves in the salving waters of the lake to prepare ourselves for our Earth Connection practice of forest bathing, ritual, meditation and a concluding Water Prayer in the woods. We will then have some social time to be with our received revelations, enjoy the waters again, before entering a sacred cacao activated tribal ecstatic dance, supported with a foundation of live percussion, to reclaim and celebrate our wildness before Mother Earth. We will come together in a prepared feast of delicious and nourishing vegan foods before entering our final closing: a sacred Fire Ceremony with live medicine music, prayers and our Dreaming the New Earth ritual. Our intention is for participants to feel inspired by the hope of the New Earth to take part in the great birthing of a new vision for humanity and become stewards for a new world —a world where we are once again apart of the sacred web of life and the wisdom of Mother Earth is centered in our lives as a great force of guidance, connected to Her great religion of beauty. “Our sense of purpose, both as individuals and as a species, depends on having a universal story. All ancient and indigenous cultures had sacred narratives, but these were specific to the tribal, racial, cultural, and geographic conditions of the people who produced them locally, whereas we today need a mythos for a planetary culture. The myth we desire and require is a story to which all human beings can relate at the species level, regardless of race, religion, nation, culture, education. A sane and compassionate society living in the global perspective is impossible without a sense of planetary conscience, but we cannot acquire this sense of conscience without a story to ground it. We commonly say that a story has a moral but the inverse is also true: a morality, a moral way of life, must have a story to support it. The story ahead is about consecration, living in conscious rapport with the higher power that sustains us, the Gaian mother force.
