New Moon & BDAY Root.Rise.Release Ritual & Celebration

Gather for ceremony w/ cacao, astrology, breathwork, ecstatic dance & community to honour the New Moon in Capricorn & Matty's solar return Hello you beautiful soul! On Friday, December 27th at 7 PM ET we gather to honour this month's (2nd) new moon as well as my solar return! This very special moon ritual is a larger gathering with a cacao ceremony, astrology & energetic transmissions, somatic breathwork, leading into an ecstatic dance journey followed by a social and potluck to close out the event. The BREATH is everything, it happens both consciously and unconsciously. When we bring our awareness to it and breathe with intention - big things can happen. Somatic breathwork invigorates the body, mind and spirit as we bring this up-regulating breath of life through our bodies, exploring all parts of us. When we breathe in this way, our nervous system becomes awakened which results in the ability to access stagnant energy and emotions that have been stored deep down in the body. This can present physically such as temperature changes, shaking, yawning and cramping (which can also be caused by the fluctuation of our blood chemistry). We can also experience an array of emotional experiences from anger, sadness and grief to joy and bliss. Sounds are encouraged and space is made specifically for that as it helps to tone the Vagus nerve and to move energy. All of the sounds and emotions are welcome - all parts of YOU are welcome. Dance is another powerful and potent form of medicine to heal the mind, body and soul as physical movement aids in transmuting (stuck and or stagnant) energy held within us. My ethos with how I guide ecstatic dance is through the chakra system, from root to crown; the music is to activate these different parts of us and help move the energy through our being. I mindfully guide us from the breathwork into slow and gentle movement as we build the energy back up during our dance. My "job" is to move us from stillness up to peak states and back down again, allowing for wild expansion and returning to a grounded and harmonious state. The process is magic, and when everyone in this large group allows their magic to flow, it is an unbelievable experience. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it and to be serving in this way. The energy of the New (Black) Moon is at its peak on Monday, December 30th at around 5:30 PM (ET) and is present for 2-3 days on each side of this point. FRI. Social & potluck snacks to end the night. Midnight-ish - Gathering complete. Please honour those in the container by arriving on time (between 7 and 7:15). There is street parking, but sometimes this is hard to find. Check the weather (as it is the end of December) as well as TRAFFIC. The main intersection is College and Dovercourt - this is accessible by TTC. Additionally, in honouring those in the container, if you find yourself to be notably unwell (understandably, things come up over the holiday season), please be mindful of everyone's health - and if you don't think you should come, let me know and we can figure something out for a future event. I appreciate all the bday love, but to clarify this isn't a "pop in and say hi" kind of event, it is a committed ceremony. For those who have been to one of my moon rituals over the past couple of years, it is of this nature. And what I mean by that is... ** THE DOORS WILL BE CLOSED FOR CEREMONY - from approximately 7:20 to 11. *NO LATE ARRIVALS or "ins and outs" as we are creating and holding the energetic container together. It may seem a bit "serious" for a birthday celebration, but this is how I live my life - with reverence and in service ... my ongoing contemplation and practice is to find joy and freedom in the responsibility. The paradox of "nothing matters ... and everything matters" comes to mind with my intention of living with integrity while finding humour in the cosmic joke that life is. Cosmic jokes aside, my ask of you is to honour the container - yourself, those in it, and me, by showing up on time and being committed to the experience.
