New Years Eve Celebration of Kirtan, Intention Ceremony & Ecstatic Dance

Sing & dance with you soon! :) **************** We are thrilled to announce that this year we will be holding our 9th annual New Years Eve Kirtan at Jubilee - right in the middle of Downtown Asheville! It has been an honor to share these New Years Eve celebrations with you over the past many years, and this one is looking to be the best one yet! **Special musical guests: Noah Rouse Wilson IV, Melanie Leenhouts & Daniel Barber** EVENT DETAILS BELOW: Doors will open at 7 pm, everyone is invited to enjoy some complimentary tea from the Infusion Tea Lounge and/or purchase a Xocolatl beverage brewed on site by Jojo Silverman - $3 (info below). Sangita Devi will begin at 7:30. The kirtan will lead into a group meditation reflecting on 2013 and calling in our intentions for 2014. The meditation will guide us into the evening's ceremony. Each individual will be invited to come up to the beautiful altar to light a candle with their intention. The ceremony will flow into an Ecstatic Dance wave led by Robert Kochka that will weave us together in celebration as we embrace the New Year. This evening is an opportunity for community to come together and create a sacred space to bring in the New Year! We hope you will join us. Tickets are $35 - $50 sliding scale at the door. ****WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?**** It is free-form dance to a soundtrack that is designed to take you on a journey from a deep reflective space, all the way up to a driving high energy peak - and back down again. Some people meditate, some people do yoga, and some dance into ecstatic joy. The most important thing is that other peoples' safety is honored. ****INFUSION LOUNGE**** The Infusion Lounge is an Intentionally curated space with a delightful selection of aromas, tastes, smell, lighting, and subtle soundscapes. The magic of the Infusion Lounge allows people to take a moment, connect and engage with one another. We are excited to share with you this experience of relaxation, rejuvenation, and celebration! ****XOCOLATL**** JoJo Silverman will be offering a ceremonial xocolatl beverage for $3. Xocolatl (bitter water) is a traditional cacao (chocolate) drink dating back to the Aztec and Mayan cultures that opens the heart and mind increasing available energy and focus. This potent "hot cocoa" uses heirloom variety, hand peeled and roasted, Guatemalan cacao beans and will be created specially for the new years occasion using superfoods and herbs. A perfect complement to the practice of kirtan, Cacao has been called the "food for the shift". ****CO-CREATIVE ALTAR & ART-SPACE**** Alena Hennessy, local artist and author, will facilitate a co-creative altar just for this event - an altar where you will be able to write, draw and paint your intentions into a glorious and bold new year! We're really excited about this… To find out more, you'll just have to come on New Years Eve! :D ****CHILDREN**** Please note that children are welcome to attend with their families, but there will be no childcare provided. We ask parents to keep your children with you and help them to respect the quiet times, ESPECIALLY during the intention-setting ceremony. This is important.
