This time of year is recognized and celebrated by many cultures as a mysterious Season where the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead are overlapped. This illusory time represents a doorway between worlds, and an entryway into the darker half of the year. ….So we present to you ‘Night of the Living Dance’ in honor of this season of the ‘thinning of the veil’ by presenting a bone-rattling celebration with the theme of Death and Rebirth. In 2007, after years of meditation and other experimental avenues towards source, I had an experience that blasted open my channels and chakras in a most complex series of events that connected me to a piece of myself that I have not known on earth for a very long time. It was a bit confusing, yet unbelievably blissful, and took many years to understand. I was able to see the flower of life around plants and people, and within them was the sacred geometrical shapes called the platonic solids. Ultimately this experience opened me up into the world of feeling and seeing chi, prana, or the aether. I then started creating these sacred shapes with twisted copper wire, which act as an antennae for chi, and formed them into the most basic and fundamental building blocks of creation; the platonic solids. These forms ignite memories in those who gaze upon them into the nature of themselves. Our energy fields, and the energy fields of all life, contain these forms within them. Metatron's cube is the most well known example of these shapes and how they fit into the flower of life, and the matrix of creation. I realized that the mineral kingdom wanted to get involved and placed crystals within these shapes, using coils of copper wire within, to hold crystals that would radiate their metaphysical qualities out into the atmosphere! I have had many visions of how they affect the aether in the space they are placed, but find it hard to explain and draw. Someday I may be able to provide the visual! I use the sacred cubit when making these shapes in order to conform, as much as possible, to the nature of creation. It was through the shift from street painting and figurative work to direct action painting & drawing that this new direction was realized. Shadows, Highlights, Details, and the use of space defines for the viewer only their own subconscious interpretation of the image.
