NYC Blues Edition Global House Party: Racial Justice Fundraiser

http://www.globalhouseparty.dance/ Recess Global House Party is a single night for the far-reaching recess and blues communities to come together and raise awareness, support, and money for racial justice — throwing an epic dance party in the process. This is a decentralized event with individual hosts and events coordinating around a singular cause. There will be an online live stream of Blues music — ​playing at parties around the world — DJ'd from cities across the globe. New York Details: Where? Currently planned for 8pm-2am Who is being funded? We are still building some exciting partnerships with local organizations. If you have other suggestions of orgs that would like to be involved, let us know. Any Global House Party funds not otherwise designated are going to BLM. What's even happening? -Blues music and dancing! -Leeran and I will be playing live music! -Game room! -Introvert's closet! -Who even knows what else? Tell us if you want to make something happen. -Slumber party? let us know if you need a place to stay. Hopefully we don't break the floor! If it gets too crowded, we might have to ask people to frolic in Washington Square park until space clears out. MOOLAAAAAAH - We want to raise as much money as possible for Black Lives Matter so we’re asking for a suggested donation of $10-15 at the door. However, don’t be shy about giving 20. Or 100. Or whatever you feel like. Please also take into account how much you’ll be drinking and eating. We’ll provide snacks and drinks, but please feel free to bring more in addition to your donation - especially since party costs come out of the amount that we’re able to donate, and we want to be able to be generous. (But we do understand that people are at different places in their lives with respect to money, so donations are optional. You can still come and bring your energy without donating anything.) PIZZAAAAA - We were thinking of getting pizza at around 8pm and chowing down before the dance party begins. Let us know if you’re interested, bring an extra $5 or so for a few slices, and we’ll order some pizza! FUSIOOOOON - The original plan was to throw both a blues party and a Fusion party in different locations. We decided to consolidate so we figure we’ll have at least a one hour Fusion set if people are wanting that. Let us know with the poll how much Blues vs Fusion music you want. We are democratic. ;) STREAMING LIVE MUSIC - Leeran and I are going to be playing some live blues! In order to stream it live, we need someone to upload the files to sound cloud.
