Info: hudsonvalleydance.org or 845 454-2571 + The Pre-Dance Workshops: (separate workshop admission: $15 one workshop/$20 both) Emily Vanston teaches solo charleston + opportunity to perform 6:30 - 7:15 Workshop 1: Simple Solo Charleston (All Levels) - Solo Charleston is fun for everyone, at all ages and ability levels. It's a great way to enjoy the music if you don't have a partner (you'll often see solo Charleston circles forming at dances), and fun to do with a partner, too! In this workshop, we'll learn the basic 20's Charleston step, plus a few fun variations. 7:15 - 8:00 Workshop 2: Solo Charleston Routine (All Levels) + Opportunity to Perform- In this class we'll build a short routine out of simple solo Charleston steps. Learning a routine is a great way to learn and retain new steps! We'll then have the opportunity to perform the routine during the band's first break. No performance experience is necessary: it will be very low-stress, fun and open to all levels.
