Now we have a wonderful workshop with Shelby Joy Cole & Lunna Gomes before partying it up with DJ Power & MC Jessica Lamdon! Shelby and Lunna believe that to dance with another body, one must get to know their own first. Within this Zouk class, they will create body awareness, mind + body connection, and body to body synchronicity. Utilizing movement and Zouk fundamentals, students will explore levels of balance and how vital it is when working with another body in partner dance. Read over their bio below. Zouk It Out! :-O Teachers' Bios: Shelby Joy Cole studied Ballet, Modern, and International Ballroom before discovering Zouk. Through competing and engaging with energetically charged bodies on stage, she has accumulated knowledge of body awareness, connection, and flow. Shelby Joy currently teaches and performs throughout the city and loves to share the lessons she has learned. Lunna Gomes developed her body movement experience in Brazil. Growing up with a mix of styles, dance became her communication to the world and to those around her. Now, as she becomes more established in contemporary movement and Zouk, Lunna has opened this door of body+mind exploration through connection and improvisation. Using her words to paint a visualization, she leads her students through an experience that is harvested in the mind, and is reaped in the body. Each lesson contains different material, each with a different intention.
