Within this ceremony we open hearts and minds to surrender to what is meant for our Highest good, and direct ourselves to the very edges of ourselves through song, rhythm, improvisation + presence of the plant medicine - The Cacao. Joy Okoye will guide a special New Years Activation JourneyDance™ ritual. Our bodies become the prayer as we make quantum shifts through ancient + intuitive movement in a sacred container of music that is emotionally rich, energetic, and spiritually expansive ... the dance invokes, uplifts, and moves us to transcendental peaks and deep inner valleys. The Interactive Ecstatic Drumming is led by APRIL CENTRONE and EVANS CHIGOUNIS. April is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, composer and music therapist based in NYC / NJ, joined by EVANS. April is a Carnegie Hall World Explorer 2020 musician and educator, the founder of 10PRL - the arts/film/event space on the Jersey Shore, and co-founder of the New York Arabic Orchestra, non-profit organization specializing in the performance and education of Arabic music. She currently teaches world music at William Paterson University and has held lectures in music therapy and Arabic music/percussion at Taipei University of the Arts, Lebanese American University and others. Evans W Chigounis, has been a drum circle facilitator for 16 years as well as percussionist/drummer. Evans is a professional Native American flute player, teacher and sales of High Spirits, flutes. His unique improvisational style of both Flute and percussion blends perfectly into any musical venue. Sweet Beats + Global Rhythms provided by: EARTH EPHECT [Paul Patterson]: Melodic... euphoric... proggy... psychedelic midtempo/downtempo... Using an eclectic collection of instruments and years of musical self expression and exploration, Earth Ephect's intent is to create a transcendent sonic journey that embraces the beauty and magic of the human experience. The evening evolves into an ECSTATIC DRUMMING JAM-SESSION DANCE EVOLUTION featuring Live Improvisational Music, Vocals & Drumming w/April Centrone, Evans Chigounis + Friends and accompanied by the soulful and other-worldly vocal vibrations of THE SOUND SIRENS. The Sound Sirens (April Centrone, Joy Okoye, Serenity Entity) are an improvised vocal and multi-instrumental trio that fuses world and experimental music invoking harmonic sacred sound and multi-sensory states of awareness. Enjoy this mystical sound ensemble that incorporates elements of soundscape, music meditation, sound healing, and performance art. All Ecstatic Dance Jersey gatherings conclude with authentic relating within a Sharing Circle - a sacred and brave container held on this evening by Adnan Shamsi, Joy Okoye and Serenity Entity.
