About this Event

A group of very creative instructors of the Molchanovs system and AIDA, invite all those who are curious to participate in an unusual course of Freediving and OceanDance. FOR WHOM? THE FIRST WEEK is for those who are unfamiliar or yet not very confident in their freediving skills, or in being in the water. The main focus during this week will be to build those basic tools that will allow us to be at ease in the water. And from there to dive into the world of underwater dancing. Therefore, experienced or inexperienced dancers without freediving experience should join this week. It´s worth to say that while the main focus is on developing freediving skills, the program is not that of a standard freediving course, and there will still be plenty of dance. THE SECOND WEEK is for those who are familiar with water and confident in their freediving skills. The main focus will be on dancing in the land, in water and underwater. Therefore, this week is meant for those dancer or not dancers who, regardless of how deep or how long, are already able to dive with some degree of ease and comfort. WHERE? Cirali, Turkey. The most transparent warm water of the Mediterranean Sea, a quiet cozy bay with ruins of ancient Greek cities, where turtles swim and lay eggs. Near the famous mountain Chimera, from which flames burst out. Pomegranates and citrus fruits are freely available in the trees. Possibility to stay in a hotel or in a tent. Cheap flights can be found in Pegasus Airlines and other airlines. WHEN? August 27 - September 2 September 4 - September 10 This is an intensive retreat. You can come only for the first week or the second, or come for the two weeks. The first week is for those who want to learn freediving. Freediving experience is required to participate in the second week. Those who have already mastered freediving before can also join for the first week to refresh knowledge and have a good time. It´s also possible and advisable to join for the last two days of week one (1-2 September). These days will not be about education, but about freediving practice. Is a good time for acclimatization and also getting some advice from the instructors. HOW DOES DOES IT WORK? Answering the question "What are your relationship with water?" Many people point out: that they feel its attraction, as well as the fear. They feel both the support of water and their inability to receive it fully, to yield into this support with complete relaxation. Are you familiar with this ambiguous feeling? It is quite normal. Our inner world is also torn apart by that duality. We keep having our dreams, passions, intentions, wishes, and we keep being afraid to realize them fully. Water is not only an Element outside of us, but water is also a manifestation of numerous aspects of our being: Sensitivity Sensuality Emotionality Expressiveness Flexibility Spontaneity Acceptance Allowance of being accepted Sexuality Intuition Femininity Inner child and many, many more aspects... "Underwater", "in the depth" - is where our fears live, side by side with our resources. We gain those resources once we stop being afraid, once we find the lightness and the ability to relax, to meditate. As we draw attention to reactions in those times when we would normally flee or panic. This is when body awareness helps us. Because in the body is where our emotions and reactions live. To make friends with the water and the depths - mostly means to get to know yourself, and to create a friendship with your body and your unconsciousness. So... What is your relationship with Water? IN THE PROGRAM: To be free in the water, to enjoy contact with the water element, with oneself and with another. To be in playfulness and peace. Develop and have a rest. If you respond to such desires, then we are on the way! How to freely to be and dance in the water, with pleasure? Shallow or deep? it does not matter. The elements in the preparation, we love them very much, we ourselves are engaged with them and we teach them with pleasure. The principles of freediving, ergonomic swimming, and contact improvisation. In many ways are similar and seamlessly complement each other. Writer, choreographer, psychologist, dancer, performer and dance teacher. "My friendship with freediving never has started, and will never end. Water, and all of its states, and all of my states when being in the water, help to bring up from the depth new facets of my being.Every time, deepening my face into the water, or drinking it, I get through it and I let it in, I let the water to create with me all what is needed...Water has its own states and characters... I can feel when it is light, heavy, deep or chaotic...I've been doing freediving for many years. Being a child, parents took me to live to Japanese Sea, and there it was called "diving for the shells". Teaching freediving became my main life activity only 10 years ago. Since then, a whole tribe of people flew through me. Many of them already became instructors, and now they are opening the depth to somebody else...I had the fortune to co-work with such great people like Natalya and Alexey Molchanov, Julia Petrik, Natalya Ovseenko, Umberto Pelizzari, Sarah Campbell and many others. But within this retreat, I would like not to teach freediving as a sport, but rather to disclose the space of water, the way I feel and see it. Not to teach, but to open a shield of interaction with water and with oneself. So every participant will have a chance, deepening towards the sea bottom, to deepen also into himself/herself, to dive in and to look, what is there." MARIO BLANCO: A Freediving instructor certified by the AIDA association, using his own somatic-oriented approach “freedive for fun”. A Zen Shiatsu (Japanese digital pressure massage) therapist, a Yoga Instructor, a Contact Improvisation dancer, facilitator, and performer. "My main interest is the investigation of movement, on Land and in Water. Zen Shiatsu brings familiarity with physical and emotional tensions, in order to recognize and help to release them. Yoga brings first-hand knowledge of breathing techniques, postural alignment, mental awareness, and relaxation. Finally, Contact Improvisation is like a guideline to help my students on the adventurous journey into their own way to move and to understand their own bodies. I love to see when people whom I facilitate, learn to move with grace and ease underwater.”I see water as a very special Element, where I have to learn everything from the very beginning. In the water, I can hardly believe my habitual ways of perception, because they are totally confused. At the same time, some of the inner sensations become more strong and clear, like sensations in the diaphragm and inner organs. And the touch, that feels so extraordinary in the uniformity of water.I believe that the dance is such an astonishing tool for exploring the water dimension. At the same time, water is an amazing place for exploring the dance and playfulness. In this research of Water/Dance/Feeling, I get excited just from thinking about the overwhelming possibilities." SASHA BEZRODNOVA: Social psychologist, workshop leader, embodiment facilitator, Dragon Dreaming practitioner, BodyMind Gestalt practitioner, international teacher of Contact Improvisation, body awareness, contact in water and OceanDance, freediver, ecological activist, organizer of water-and-land festivals, retreats, journeys, and laboratories. Co-teacher of retreats on emotional liberation and deep listening #deep_journey "Water is the Element that feels like home to me. I had experience of sinking in my childhood, and what stayed with me, is the trust and ability to stay peacefully observing, what is happening. Many times people come to my water workshops because they want to get rid of their fear of water. And I enjoy seeing, how deep listening, acceptance of what is, and relaxation, do their job. Some of these people become freedivers after, and I am happy because of how deep they can go :)I organize and lead workshops and festivals around the world, focused on people making friends with their bodies, developing ecological habits, creating common life and celebrating their existence in the dance. My main interest is sustainability, in a wide perspective, especially its human and psychological aspects. I’m also working a lot on people’s connection with Nature. Especially the Nature of their Body, Earth, and Water.I also love to dance underwater, around the depth of neutral buoyancy, and to interact with sea creatures. Because they really love to dance when they meet a human that is meditative and playful at the same time, and they have a lot to teach to us..."
