Odysseus Bailer: Talk and Dance Workshop

Join us as the Edinburgh swing scene welcomes international blues and Lindy teacher Odysseus Bailer! In a change to the usual Edinbop schedule, EUSDS and Edibop have teamed up to bring you an evening that will include a talk and mixed-level class. Firstly, Odysseus will be delivering a talk on the African American history and culture of blues and swing. This is a great chance to learn regardless of how much or little you know on the topic and there will be lots of opportunity to ask questions. It promises to be a great chance to think more deeply about the dance we all love! Following this we will be having a mixed-level class in which Odysseus promises we will learn to approach and think about dancing in an entirely different way. This is an opportunity you don't want to miss! Schedule, all taking place in the Main Hall at Summerhall*: 7-8pm - History and Culture Talk 8-9pm - Mixed-Level Lindy class with Odysseus and Sarah 9-11pm - Social Dancing *Since everything will take place in the Main Hall we won't be using the second room this evening, and social dancing will begin at 9pm rather than our usual 8pm. £6 standard/ £5 concessions for one class £10 standard/ £8 concessions for two classes £3 Social Dancing
