Wednesday 26 November
Topic: Cultural Appropriation vs Cultural Appreciation in blues dance teaching
Speaker: Damon Stone
This topic is close to our hearts, and one we so often get asked questions about. In this online session Damon will explore that often-misunderstood line between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. Drawing on years of experience as a dancer and culture bearer within the blues community, Damon offers thoughtful insight into how we can honour the roots of the dance while contributing respectfully to its living tradition.
This session is for anyone who is teaching blues dance and who wants to engage with blues dance more consciously and respectfully.
