Ontario Latin Arts Festival 2013

2013 ONTARIO LATIN ARTS FESTIVAL Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Mel Lastman Square The Ontario Latin Arts Festival (OLAF 2013) is a unique one-day event in Canada that will celebrate the culture of the Latin America on Saturday, July 13 at Mel Lastman Square in Toronto. This flavourful festival will showcase Latin music, dance, film, literature, traditional storytelling and educational art workshops through out the festival. Attendees will enjoy live entertainment by top performers such as Café Cubano, one of Toronto's most popular salsa bands; Santerías, an eclectic blend of cajón, flamenco guitar, electric bass and drums; Mariachi Fuego band offers a refreshing twist of fun and excitement of traditional mariachi repertoire; Samba Toronto with its root in the Brazilian spirit and energy; award-winning musician and producer Carlos Bastidas and his Latin Jazz band; Cabildo dance group, a traditional folk dance ensemble; Chirimia Baru a big band ensemble performing traditional music; and Ballet Folklorico Puro Mexico preserving the rich heritage of traditional regional Mexican. Toronto’s top salsa schools Dami Dance, Casineros Unidos, Afrolatino Dance Company and Toronto Dance Salsa, and dancers from the salsa group Toronto Casino and Timba, are going to do salsa performances. Traditional Latin food will be available for purchase along with display tables of arts and crafts, as well as representative sponsors from various business/service sectors.
