Each choreography season, SaZoukMia offers a production piece and a social dance piece.
The production piece exposes dancers to the art of dance performance. Featuring a message and/or theme, staging and formation changes, these creative pieces are visually stimulating and push the dancers beyond the boundaries of their usual Zouk movements and helps to improve their footwork, presence, ability to emote, and agility through challenging timing variations.
The social dance piece grows our performers as social dancers, not only through challenging pattern-work but also in concepts not often covered in fundamental Zouk classes. These include musicality, styling, and creating balance among the footwork patterns, body movement, and head movement.
All the choreographies are multi-level, meaning that there are different sections within each piece for Beginners, Intermediate, and Pro/Instructor level dancers.
ABOUT US:
The SaZoukMia Performance team is a collaboration by two of the leading Zoukera's in the United States - Sarah Zuccaro of SaZouk and Kendra Haynes of ZoukMIA Dance Academy. These two in collaboration creates a powerhouse of talent, dedication, creativity, and professionalism. SaZoukMia is the first US-born multi-city collaboration and the first ever in the world of Zouk to present multi-level production pieces. Our unique format allows all levels to share the stage in one routine and will motivate dancers to progress and be promoted to new, higher level roles through out the choreography season.
